Escape to Banksy

Just posting a wee bit of escapism. Banksy is one of my favourite artists of all time. His work has a lot to do with the spaces they are painted in and that might not be able to be seen well in this video because the clips are so short. I'd recommend his book that is full of his images... I have it and I love it. The great thing about this Youtube video is that there are new things that I haven't seen yet. You should also check out his site, here's the link.

I wish I was Banksy or at least had as much impact and genius as he does in one finger. I feel very inspired watching this and it makes me feel like there is hope in hanging on even when that little flickering thought of, 'why?', crosses my mind. The message scrawled on the wall at 1:41 is particularly moving for me. I would love to see the painting of the little girl with the red balloon floating away with my own eyes. That would be amazing upon amazing.

One foot in front of the other, step by step, that's how anything has ever been accomplished. I'm sure this journey will mean something.

I'm going to sleep happily tonight because tomorrow is another day and that's not always a bad thing.

you rock I LOVE banksy also!! Hes inspired a huge amount of artists as a result of his work many of which are right in Canada, all you need to do is walk down the streets of Toronto and you can see it. Maybe one day you can plan a trip so that you can do a Bansky tour of sorts, to see these works in person. Ihave done that before gone on trips because I knew of a show by a specific artist was going on there, I mean I traveled to NYC simply because I wanted to see some of the art by my favorite graffiti artists up close and person. I did the same with some a trip to paris as I wanted to see some of the wall sticker art that was going on there at the time (an off shoot of the graffiti movement that bansky has used)
I hope you slept well and your right there is another day!!! In fact there are many other days...

I've never heard of this artist. Paintings with a sense of mission, as it seems. Such creativity always impressed me. So, a very cool video. And cool music too.

Yes, step by step. This is the right attitude, lady.

Hi again....my husband read my blog & is carrying on about me thinking I'm a saint. Of course I should expect him to read and comment...no matter what I write he will criticize it.

I have to decide if I will keep a blog.

We have this piece in my neighborhood: http://cache.gawker.com/assets/resources/2008/05/nickgiraffe3.jpeg It's not really clear in the picture, but the giraffe is spelling out "vandalism". I hope you are feeling better. I would love to mail you a care package from the hipster streets of Brooklyn, NY to perk you up a little bit. Do you mind emailing me your address? It's ivyastra@yahoo.com
