Starting Over

Well, I can't say I've been in my studio for two hours a day yet but I'm working on it. There are so many things I want/need to do and only so much energy. It's a bit overwhelming to say the least.

I started on a painting for my mom's new house about 5 months ago. I finally have been able to work on it again. I feel like I am starting my life from scratch because it has been so long since I've done anything. Can I still paint? Will my mom have to bite her tongue every time someone looks at the painting and says, "Your daughter did that? Umm...how lovely". I'm deathly afraid of her pretending to like it.

This photo is an in progress shot of the painting with bad lighting and without colour correction. I probably shouldn't have posted it but, oh well. I'll post the final photo when it's done.

I've also been fine tuning my website, so I hope to have it online soon. So, I am off. I have stuff to do!

I like it a lot actually, especially the starkness of the pears. I wouldn't be ashamed!

Hey girlie,
I love it and am glad you posted it, and can't wait to see the website, either.

Thanks for checking in on me lately. Your comments have really helped keep my mood up. I'm totally down (like Bobby Brown)for writing articles for you, or for you reposting any of the MissM. Just let me know!

Thinking of you lots,

Lori

Girl you can always paint...its not what you do, its part of who you are..you go girl...and if your mom doesn't want it..I will..I will proudly display it and tell every one my friend "R" did it..perhaps I will build a shrine..hehehe

Ooooooooo such vibrant colours! I crave colours at the moment. That red just made me jump for joy! Seriously I bounced in my chair, until Weapon X looked at me as if to say "Yep, she's finally lost it. I knew the day would come"

LOVE IT. love it love it love it. I empathize with being so hard on oneself about making art, but really, you should ease up with the Critic. You got talent, lady. That's gorgeous work.
