Sucking out the Lymph Node

Thanks for all the warm thoughts today. The biopsy went smoothly and I did the drop off at my parents so my son is happy. They froze his neck a little and sucked out some cells from one large lymph node (the doctor, not my parents). It looks like a tiny little vampire got him twice in the neck. He was fine and didn't fuss at all and I'm pretty sure it's because he didn't want to seem like a wuss in front of the male doctor and technician.

I have to admit, it was very odd seeing someone else on the biopsy table and to be able to see what was going on. As a patient you can't really see what they are doing to you. I'm pretty sure that's a good thing.

Anyway, I'm very confident that the results will be clear of anything nasty. This is being done mostly because I had cancer and they just want to be sure that the lumps are normal adolescent development. Some people get lumps, some don't.

If it did turn out to be something bad I guess I would probably have to throw myself into the raging, lava pit of a volcano because it would be obvious that the gods are seriously ticked at me. A virgin *ahem* sacrifice would probably be the only thing that would fix the seething, unbridled, god wrath. It cures the problem 9 times out of 10.

Whatever the results no jumping into a volcano for you lady! Firstly you're not a virgin, unless you changed your name to Mary and your boys are the second, third and fourth coming of Jesus ;) and secondly because we'd miss you and not have a damn good excuse to have a big party next year for you!

Growing kids do get odd lumps bumps and growing pains, so until someone proves otherwise I'm betting on that option.

Thinking of you both! *hugs*

That's right! I need my big party next year!

I guess the volcano may have to wait.

Here's hoping for the best for you both. A big party sounds like a great idea!

We'll be thinking about you guys. I hope it's nothing. And I must agree- NO volcano! Can we have grass skirts though?

I hope he is fine and I'm sure he is. I have lumpy kids too. I've been through a lot of "lump" tests with my daughter and one was a folded vein. Go figure!
No volcano jumping for you!
