It was an all day stripathon at the local girly club. Exotic dancers are amazing people! They all donated their time and shows to support a local family with a two year old son who is fighting Leukemia.
I donated this painting which brought in $210 for the family! Woohoo! I was a little scared there for a bit when my artwork was under the dim yellow lights of the strip club and the only ones there to bid were drunk adolescent boys (legally they were men).
Fortunately the MC and the organizer of the event began a bidding war over it. In the end the organizer won it which was great because she was so in love with it.
So, exotic dancers and the Cheesecake Burlesque troupe did shows all day. To see their page click here. Watch the little video in the bottom right corner to get an idea of what the event was like.
It was an absolute hoot. I'm going to make this my main fundraiser and help out more!
It was pretty funny though that it was my first time at a strip club! My virgin eyes have now seen things that cannot be unseen. Like flaming nipples. Wow. How the hell do you even do that? And I'm REALLY glad I didn't sit at the table down at the stage. I would have had an up close and personal gynecological anatomy lesson.
I had a few drinks, chatted to the mother of the child they were raising money for and stayed until one am. It eventually occurred to me, last year I wouldn't have been allowed into a strip club because of my low immune system. Two thumbs up for new experiences!
It was without a doubt, the best fund raising event I've ever been to!

Half a year ago, I asked the bone marrow registry, in which I am registered, to check how are doing my BM-Twin (anonymous of course).
And today, a year after the donation, the Canadians have finally decided to respond (which they are not obliged to).
I received a very good message.
My BM-twin is no longer in the hospital and she is doing well.
Yesss!
And that, sweet lady, that's the way how we do this! Jawoll.

When I lived in San Francisco, I remember a fundraiser that was a masturbation-a-thon - you got pledges for how many hours you stayed in bed masturbating. What is could be more fun than that?
